Transitioning

We moved in July; and I feel like I missed Summer this year.
Though looking forward to the views of Autumn from our new home, could these transitional temperatures last just a bit longer?

First to Bloom

Hellebores (or Helleborus?) also known as Lenten Rose.

Underneath the Winter leaves, it's a great surprise to find this gorgeous plant loaded with flowers. Unfortunately, they droop downward. So reveal them early, cut them, prop up their little heads, and enjoy!

crocus

A little bit of Spring has sprung!
I always say that I should force some bulbs for the Winter... next year?
Amazing how much life this little crocus ($1.50 at the grocery store) brings to the room.

Inspired me to make a fresh fruit smoothie.

Saipua [derived from the Finnish word for soap]

Olive oil based soaps was the starting point for Saipua. The selection includes Frankincense & Myrrh, Basil, and Sea Salt. [I am totally sold on this artsy-elegant packaging.]

Sarah Ryhanen (co-owner) decided to expand the business with flowers. This self-taught floral designer is a master! She creates the most exquisite arrangements that I have ever seen. Each one is loaded with texture from the prettiest collection of flowers and bits of nature, and the feeling is light as air.

She and Nicolette Camille [Nicolette Camille Floral Design] share the same dreamy, free, full garden style; as well as Little Flower School. Oh, to learn from these amazing talents....
I will send that intention out to the Universe.

I must create a post of more from her.

Fruit & Flowers

A good friend, our cameras, sun, and a cool breeze...a glorious time at Hurd Orchards -- one of my favorite local spots!

The sprawling grounds hold herb, vegetable & flower gardens and of course fruit trees and bushes. A quaint shop is filled with their fresh produce, flowers, jams & jellies, baked goods and more. The charming barn used for events was being readied for a wedding that afternoon; and we so wished that we could attend!

It's peach season; and we left with fresh baked peach breads and a basket of peaches that we plucked from the trees.
