Been away from the blog for a while.
Life all of a sudden seemed to get really full with
the holidays, family, orders, work, weather, baby shower and...
Joined my brother (father and Hazel) on their weekly rounds to supply his restaurant Rocco with fresh and local foods. We hit the Rochester public market; Olindo, a long established Italian market; and also had lunch a Fiamma, an excellent Italian restaurant that features truly authentic Neapolitan wood fired pizza. A nice day!
I don't think that I ever wore a store-bought costume for Halloween.
It was either home-made or simply pieced together with what was on hand.
You know, the gypsy, the hobo, the mime...
Today, I'm loving these.
Fine, handmade leather filigree masks from Tom Banwell Designs. A perfect starting point for standout Halloween garb. Choose the one that speaks to you, and be creative!
We moved in July; and I feel like I missed Summer this year.
Though looking forward to the views of Autumn from our new home, could these transitional temperatures last just a bit longer?
I have started this off with a photographer request for a fabric covered box that will hold up to 500 4x6 photos. One of her brides, with a June wedding, will receive this with her proofs. Hope she loves it as much as I do.
These lovely boxes are not just for photographer use. Your personal photos will be handy for reminiscing whenever the mood strikes. Classic in design, this box is an adornment for any room of any style.
Hellebores (or Helleborus?) also known as Lenten Rose.
Underneath the Winter leaves, it's a great surprise to find this gorgeous plant loaded with flowers. Unfortunately, they droop downward. So reveal them early, cut them, prop up their little heads, and enjoy!

It was a cool, rainy, early Autumn day. But when we arrived at our destination, the rain stopped; a horse-drawn cart greeted us; we were escorted to the ceremony site; and we forgot all about the dampness. The grounds of the Equicenter, in Honeoye Falls, NY (where the bride works as well as boards and trains her horse) provided a lush, green backdrop that was stunning. The wedding party was in black; and the accent colors of shades of rich purple contrasted beautifully.
"Do you, Kyle, understand that there will always be horses in your life?"
The Equicenter provides therapeutic riding and horsemanship services.
Photos from Images Unveiled These images were provided to me via the bride's Facebook page, so the quality may not be accurate.
Plenty of time though to plan surprise gifts for unsuspecting friends and family or as random acts of kindness. Tradition says to leave a basket of flowers or treats at someone's door, ring the bell, and run!
I have different sized cones in my shop -- fun and fancy for pretty bouquets.
I like to cover them with fabric but can be made without as shown here.
For a bit of a break in Winter, we headed down to the Charleston area to see my husband's mother and brother. We had a nice visit but not so nice weather. It rained every day except one. Sunday was gorgeous; so we went downtown to wander around.
